The food manufacturing industry is evolving constantly due to changes in the shift in which food is being manufactured whilst managing food security, food sustainability, and environmental impact. Food manufacturers are ranging from small kitchens by the side of the road, small to medium enterprises (SMEs), to factories looking at making products that will meet the market demands on sugar, salt, and fat content. Healthier food options are the heart of healthy leaving, therefore, a diet high in fruits and vegetables and protein food products that are either natural or minimally processed tend to benefit the body in most cases.

At Food Brookes you can get support from planning menus (daily or weekly meals); shopping for different dietary requirements, save money, and reduce waste; cooking skills; manage weight; food allergies, and intolerances (you can request for tests to be done if not sure); and also have access to a number of resources such as menus and meal planners.

Some SMEs in the food industry might not have a food science background but would like to share their innovative food ideas with the food industry, Food Brookes will support SMEs with short courses on understanding the chemistry of foods, food storage and packaging, the impact of food processing on nutrient content, nutrient content analysis, texture profile analysis, and sensory evaluation, and food labelling.
